About Me

I’m Linda “Shibes” Schaible

And I Write Bad Songs . . . to get to the good ones!

“You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don’t try to forget the mistakes, but you don’t dwell on it. You don’t let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.” – Johnny Cash

I love songwriting. Not just the outcomes, but the process itself, because songs help us understand ourselves as individuals and help others do the same.

Name one song you love that doesn’t conjure up an emotion that’s personal to you. Does it tap into a memory? Something that’s uniquely yours? Probably – and that’s what I love about songwriting – the mystery and the unintentional universal nature of it.

So how do you get there? By failing. Yes. Failing.

You’ll write some bad songs, and that’s OK! If you’re learning with each one, you’re doing the right things.

My process gives you permission to fail, learn, and feel good about yourself. The outcome? For every bad song you write, you’re one step closer to a great song.
